You are saying “Your life has meaning and purpose… What you do and who you are matters to me.”

The power of appreciation was depicted beautifully in a Saratoga Institute survey in which they asked 20,000 existing employees why they left. Money was not the issue and rarely is. In the Top 5 was feeling undervalued and unappreciated. No surprises there.
