What do you value above all else?

Is it the freedom to choose:

- What you do?
- Where and with whom you live, work and play?
- How and what to think and say? or …

- What you believe about life, relationships, the human spirit, work and success?

As Victor Frankl, author of “Man’s Search for Meaning”, once said “The last of human freedoms is to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”

These words are even more powerful, when we remember that Dr. Frankl was also a holocaust survivor.

Do not discard your freedom to think and believe in your own unique and self-empowering way. It’s all too easy to do if we allow ourselves to get lost in the latest emergency, stream of activities or information that we accept as fact, forgetting that it came though someone’s else filters, no matter how “factual” it may seem.

Personally, I believe that the greatest gift of all, is the freedom to think, believe and express what is uniquely and incredibly yours to share.

For what you think and believe is at the very core of who you are.

To rise above mass consciousness, requires us to intentionally choose the attitude we’ll take with us on our journey through life.

So consider whether you will choose:

- Celebration over Sorrow
- Wisdom over Ignorance
- Prosperity over Poverty
- Love over Fear
and …
Freedom over self-created bondage.

In the end, it’s up to each of us, as individuals, to choose what we will believe, think, be and do.

So embrace your life and live it in your own unique and beautiful way.

Why do I feel compelled to jump in and volunteer to do things , only to later feel frustrated by my long list of TO DO’s? It feels even worse if I start comparing my list to what others are doing.

It’s funny how the questions we ask ourselves have the answers within them. For it is the questions that reveal how our perceptions shape our reality.  Here’s what I mean. 

Jumping in and volunteering and then feeling… why did I do that… again … is a common scenario for those who really do want to help others (I count myself among you, oh my sister and brother do gooder, high achiever types)! Those are great traits, until one lets the ego use comparisons to make one feel more important, victimized or “less than” in feelings of unworthiness. Yes, feeling inadequate is every bit in the realm on living from the ego (rather than our higher self) than when we want to feel “more than” others.

Using comparisons in an attempt to feel “more than” or “less than” are incorrect concepts that distract us from aligning with what we truly want. But, when we use comparisons as a means to gain clarity about what we really want, we open up to the meaning and wisdom within the experience.

So let’s ask some other questions. What was your desired experience when you volunteered or jumped into this latest thing on your TO DO list? What is it you want to experience? What is it you desire now? Perhaps you want your action to be more enjoyable. You don’t want it to be hard or pointless. You want to feel appreciated and aligned with the best route possible.

So how do you get to the best route?

1. You enjoy doing it.
2. You believe the action will bring about the desired results.
3. It fits nicely within your schedule.
4. You are recognized.
5. You feel appreciation.

But wait… aren’t these are all states of consciousness you can allow at any point in time? Yes, if you gently guide your thoughts and feelings before, during and after your “doing”. When you embody the qualities of the experiences you desire, you’ll naturally attract more of that to you. Okay, there’s that Law of Attraction thing again… you’d think I’d have this down by now, wouldn’t you?

Okay, so there are really three things going on here.

1. Before you commit, be sure “it” is something you truly want to do. Will it feed your spirit? Is it an opportunity to learn … meet new people or sharpen your skills as you also help others? Know before you say yes.

2. Then get aligned with what you want to experience, as you go about doing.

3. Don’t worry about what others are doing or why they are or are not doing it.. you have enough of your own problems  !

Be playfully present and kind to yourself on this most incredible of journeys!

Using your unique gifts and talents, and exploring personal interests and hobbies are essential ingredients for a fulfilling life.   The truth is we’re happiest when we are using our unique talents to express who we truly are. We experience more joy and satisfaction when our personal and professional decisions are aligned with our unique definition of success, and when we make time in our life to pursue personal interests and hobbies. 

So knowing what you want to experience more of in your life and business, helps you create a plan to get there.  In going through this process, you may find you want to refine your current business model to support your vision of an ideal lifestyle or it may mean eliminating some habits that no longer serve you, or strengthening your resolve to say no to the things that don’t move you toward your desired destination. 

It’s time to give yourself permission to take care of your own needs too. You are worth taking care of!  You simply can’t keep caring for everyone else, at the expense of your own needs. To better serve those you care about, you must serve your Self too.

Feed your spirit AND your bottom line. When spirit comes first, everything else will fall in line.

 Within every person is a desire to do something meaningful …
to make a difference and to feel appreciated.

That is the simple formula for inspiring your Self, as well as others.

You find meaning when you express your unique talents and strengths.
For these are your soul gifts that give your life purpose. These are the things you love to do.

You make a difference when you are guided by the life qualities that have personal significance to you...not someone else’s dream, the latest sales pitch or infomercial.

Whether you are guided by life balance, integrity … prosperity, compassion, fun, creativity … being the best, harmony or courage… claim the values that feed “your” spirit. That is where real happiness lies.

Be true to who you are, and use your unique and incredible gifts to serve others.

So what do you value above all else? What do you absolutely, positively love to do?

- Let your own values be your guide.  
- Express your soul gifts in service to others.
- Show appreciation, and it will come back to you one thousand fold.

Use a consistent formula and you will get consistent results.

If you use a formula that maps to your unique definition of success, you will surely arrive at your desired destination.
